I'm going to use today's post as an opportunity to talk about an important issue that has always been important, but has come under attack in a dreadful way today. The freedoms that we have as a people are what make us able to be and express who we are. Freedom of speech, expression, press, are all things that we sometimes take for granted since it's been something we've been accustomed to for most of our lives. But it is one of the many things that is a backbone to our society. Without it, we lose so much of who we are. So today, I am standing with the people of Paris and those who lost their lives at Charlie Hebdo just for speaking, writing, and drawing how they felt. My thoughts go out to them and all of their families as they face this difficult time. It is not a crime to express yourself. Do not let this senseless act that happened today make you think any differently. Defend freedom.
