Today's look is a preppy casual summertime boasting look. The weather the past few days (cloudy and rainy) had me almost forgetting about the fact that it's still basically summertime here. And it got me thinking that maybe if I dress accordingly, the sun will come out and respond to my sunny disposition. Just like a rain dance is meant to bring rain, you could call this a "sun dress" to bring out the sun. It hasn't worked just yet, but I'm still hopeful. Today's outfit also features a bit of pattern mixing. It's more subtle from far away, but when you get up close to see the details, you can see the thin stripes on the shorts meeting the checkered print of the shirt (which I just recently found on a thrifting trip last week). And the canvas sneaker makes sure to keep the overall look as casual as can be without taking too much away from the preppy feeling. If the sun is out where you live, please let it know that I miss it and look forward to seeing it very soon.
