eight thirty six: tropic topic

When I was younger, I used to always borrow two pieces from my dad's wardrobe. One being flannel shirts in my grunge style period and the other being tropical themed pattern shirts during a much different style period of mine. I'm not exactly sure why I loved shirts like that so much at that time, but I do know now that they are some of my favorite types of shirts. I definitely don't wear them too frequently (even in the spring or summer), but they will always hold a special spot in my heart and wardrobe. I think that in order for them to stay as special as they are to me, I can't wear them too often or else they'll lose some of their general appeal. The best thing that I like to pair these kind of shirts with is another bold solid color that assists in getting the shirt to stand out even more. I did so today with a bright red slim fit pant and went a little further to help ground the look by cuffing the sleeves of my dark grey undershirt to frame the shirt and match my dark grey shoe choice as well. This spring is starting out to be a great one for me and I hope that the rest of you are experiencing the same. Have a great weekend!

Today I am wearing:
•Mirrored aviator sunglasses from H&M
•Tropical patterned button up shirt from H&M
•Dark grey basic t-shirt from American Apparel
•Studded belt from H&M
•Slim fit five pocket pant from H&M
•Sneakers from Vans
